Although born and raised in Gainesville, I traveled extensively in college as a photojournalist to Western Europe and Latin America and later taught and tutored English writing and reading in Puerto Rico. My unique experiences have taught me the importance of communication, flexibility, human relations, time management and creativity in all aspects of life. As a marathoner and leukemia survivor, I know preparation is the key to completing your goals and understand how to find the possible in the impossible. I am active in this wonderful community and find many reasons to love this beautiful, small city of Gainesville, the heart of the Gator Nation. Among all the activities I participate in, I am the Community Director of The Jaycees; a committee member of the American Cancer Society's Cure By Design annual charity event; and an active member of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
